Baseball


Maize High Baseball has had many successes over the years including last year being the 6A State Champions. They have been ranked nationally multiple years. Last year they ended the season ranked 
#3 by Collegiate Baseball
#3 Maxprep Writers Poll
#8 by Baseball America
#8 by USA Today

Over the last thirteen years, their win/loss record is an impressive 254- 55.

Feeding the Homeless

Volunteering - Dance Reflection dance show - several of the dance team volunteered to help out a former Flygirl with her dance show.  Her dance studio is designed for disabled americans.  The program catered to disabled students from 5 - 35. They performed several outstanding dance performances.

The performances were only basic the 2 years listed - All home football and Basketball Games

**** The Maize High Fly Girls is a 10 month commitment  - The girls tryout and are selected in March - They begin practicing in late April to get ready for camp in June - The girls finish with camp and have off till the first of August- they begin practice in August and don't have any time off till the end of March.  These girls are very dedicated and close knit.  They work hard each day with little time off.  This is a wonderful organization to be a part of.

Football

  • Team co-hosts a 7 on 7 competition with Bishop Carroll for 6 weeks of summer

Softball

In 2010, the Lady Eagles Softball teams had tremendous success going 22 - 3 and winning the 6A State Championship. The following year, the team lost only 1 game during the regular season and made another state appearance.

Maize High has been fortunate to experience a high level of success over the past 12 years in both girl’s and boy’s tennis.  Team successes include:
-          8 Regional team championships in girls          
-          7 Regional team championships in boys
-          5 League team championships in girls            
-          6 League team championships in boys             
-          State Runner-Up in girls in 2007
-          Usually qualify top 6 varsity members for state competition
-          Over 25 players have had the opportunity to go on and play college tennis
-          8 players have accumulated over 100 career wins

Not only does the Track team experience a great deal of success during their season, they also experience a lot of fun!
One of the many highlights is the University of Kansas Relays :
  • Features the best high school athletes from across the nation
  • Collegiate and professional athletes (including Olympians) competing in an open division
  • Maize athletes get to meet and watch elite athletes
  • In 2010, the MHS boys 4x400 relay team was the only team from Kansas to qualify for the finals
